Small screen actress Pratyusha Banerjee of Balika Vadhu fame found dead at her Kandivali residence in Mumbai. She hanged herself, but was detected and taken to the Kokilaben Ambani Hospital where she succumbed.
Police are investigating the possible reason that may have prompted Pratyusha to resort to the extreme step and they will be relying on the postmortem.
The police are also suspecting some criminal action in this awful event as Pratyusha's body apparently had a faint rope mark on her neck. Her left cheek was wounded and blood was coming out from her mouth.
Nonetheless, there are rumors that Pratyusha was in deep stress over a failed love affair with Rahul Singh, her co-star of the reality show Power Couple.
As per the reports, Rahul looked quiet and unmoved by the circumstances during his stay at the hospital and left the place in urgency on alleged reason that he was booking flight tickets for Pratyusha's parents.
While speaking to a national media house, Ajaz Khan, Pratyusha's co-participant of Bigg Boss said, 'I don't think its suicide. I think it's a planned murder.' One of Pratyusha's close friend also clarified that, she was strong, so that she cannot commit suicide.
Same kind of incident happened couple of years ago. Actress Jiah Khan committed suicide by hanging herself at her residence. Her boyfriend Sooraj Pancholi was suspected in the matter. He was arrested, but walked out of the jail on bail.

In a shocking incident, Pratyusha Banerjee, the 24-year-old actress who played Anandi in Balika Vadhu, the Hindi version of the country's most favorite TV series Chinnari Pelli Kuthuru, committed suicide by hanging herself at her house in Mumbai's suburban residential area Goregaon.
Pratyusha was rushed to the Kokilaben Ambani Hospital in Andheri but doctors declared her dead upon arrival. Police suspect 'personal reasons' as a motive behind her taking the extreme step and are investigating the matter.
Pratyusha had a fairly decent career as an actress and she was one of the highest paid actresses in the Hindi TV circuit. After starting her career with Balika Vadhu, Pratyusha also contested in Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 5 and was one of the participants of Bigg Boss 7. She was last seen in Hum Hain Na as the main female lead.
In 2013, before entering Bigg Boss 7, Pratyusha was in news when filed an FIR against her boyfriend Makrand Malhotra. In January early this year, the actress filed a case of harassment by 8 fake policemen who tried to barge into her flat when she was alone.
